TIME TO THINK

Posted on: Tue 11 May 2010

Popular defender Richard Keogh has today spoken for the first time about his situation after initally turning down the offer of a two-year contract that would keep him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2012.

Keogh, 23, joined the Cumbrians on-loan from Bristol City in November 2007 and signed a permanent two-year deal in August 2008.

Now coming towards the end of his current contract, he finds himself in the difficult position of having to make a decision on what he wants to do next.

He said: "After talks with the Manager and an offer from the club for me to re-sign, the manager has giving me some time to think it over.

"I will be taking a holiday and will consider my options with regards to my future.

"I have had an excellent spell at Carlisle and find it very difficult to think of playing football elsewhere.

"I am grateful to the Manager for the time he is giving me to make a decision and thank everyone for the continuing support."
