HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW

Posted on: Sat 08 May 2010

On-loan forward Jason Price said a fond farewell to the United squad shortly after full time at Carrow Road on Saturday as he made his return to his parent club Millwall, and a possible appearance in the League One play-offs.

The Lions will face the Terriers of Huddersfield for the right to progress to the play-off final at the end of the month and Price, who scored four goals in his nine appearances for the Cumbrians, is ready to play a part if required.

He said: "I've really enjoyed it here, but the season is still alive for Millwall and we will have to wait and see what happens when I get back down there.

"Anything can happen in the play-offs, and all four teams involved will feel that they can do the job. Like I say, we'll just have to wait and see."

On his last appearance in a Carlisle shirt, he said: "It was a great game to play in.

"They did their awards and things on the pitch before kick off and that got the fans going, and there was a really good atmosphere with our fans making noise in the corner as well.

"We got off to a great start, and then the free kick came in from Hartey and I just managed to get a bit of my hair onto it. It's definitely my goal because the touch from my hair was enough to get it past the keeper."

But free kick taker Ian Harte, already with 18 goals to his name for the campaign, wasn't as convinced.

He said: "I knew as soon as I took it that it was going in.

"It was one of those where the keeper was in two minds about what to do, so he was caught in the middle a bit. I spoke to him afterwards and he wasn't sure whether Pricey had got anything on it or not, but he has claimed it, so he must have got a touch.

"In all honesty, it doesn't matter, because we have won the game. It doesn't matter who gets the goal, as long as someone does, so it's all just friendly banter."

On the game itself, Harte said: "I thought we played really well.

"We passed it well and we worked hard, and I think we really caught them off guard with the way we started the game.

"It's a good way for us to end the season, and we can all look forward to a little break before we come back in the summer ready to go again."
