Club captain Paul Thirlwell gave us his reaction to the Walsall game.
He said: "Obviously we would have liked to have got the three points but overall we've put in a good display. It was a high energy performance, which is what we wanted, and we have sent the fans home knowing that we are up for the fight. To be fair to the lads we have all gone out there and had a right good go.
"It's disappointing for the fans when we don't play well, and we don't like it either. It's never nice to read disappointing things about yourself as individuals, or as a team, so we wanted to put that right, especially here at home.
"We had a move around in midfield, but that was fine. Adam Clayton was saying that he had played out wide before and I thought he did it very well. Pitch considering, which isn't great at this time of the season, we played it quite well.
"Myself and Tom Taiwo were in the middle and we both tend to stop the other team from playing as much as we can. We like to get it and give it simple, and that's what we tried to do.
"They scored early but it was probably one of those where it was too early for us to worry about it too much. The game hadn't really started so we just got on with it and I thought we were the better team once we got the equaliser. It was a good game for us to finish things off with.
"We stayed out afterwards to thank the fans for what they have done this season, and I think they have seen an improvement. We can't rest on our laurels. We want to give it a good display next week and come back next season determined to keep the performance levels up.
"It's been different being captain this year. It's been better because we have made progress and we have stayed well away from the situation that we were in last season. We were safe with 6 or 7 games to go, even though we've had a bit of a bad run, and we're pleased that we stopped that today."
