Winger Ben Marshall returned to the team on Friday after missing the final at Wembley last weekend due to being cup-tied. We caught up with him after the Bristol Rovers game to get his reaction.
He said: "It was great to get back out there again and to put in a performance like that as a team.
"I think it was important for us to go out there and play as well as we did as we hadn't done ourselves justice against Southampton. Hopefully the fans enjoyed what they saw.
"Last weekend was really frustrating for me. It was a great experience just to visit Wembley, but to have to watch it from the bench in a suit was difficult. I really wanted to be out there playing and trying to influence the game but obviously I couldn't. Hopefully I'll get another chance in the future to play there.
"It was good to play again though and I thought the whole team performance was spot on from the very start.
"I didn't mind switching to the left after Matty went off injured. I quite enjoyed it actually, I know I can play well on that side and it allows me to cut inside and have some shots on goal, although my radar was a little bit off this time!
"Having someone like Jason Price in the forward position makes a big difference. He really links the play well and Adam Clayton had a fantastic game just behind him. The whole forward line linked really well today, Scott had a good game on the right after he came on and Tom and Thirls did a great job in the holding roles to make sure we had a licence to get forward more.
"The gaffer told us at half-time to just keep playing well and keep possession, getting the ball out wide and then getting men into the box. We did that well and got our rewards with the goals.
"The red card didn't change much - we ended up falling asleep as a team for their goal but it shows what a good team we have when we reacted so quickly to get back in the lead. After Jason's goal some of the football we played was the best I've seen since I came here.
"After waiting two weeks to play again, I'm quite glad we've got a quick turnover before the Charlton game on Monday. It's one of the first fixtures I looked for when I joined on-loan. The chance to play at a stadium of Premier League quality against a side pushing for the top is what everyone here wants to do and hopefully we can go and pick up another three points there."
