CARLISLE UNITED 3 (Harte pen 56, pen 71, Price 61) BRISTOL ROVERS 1 (Heffernan 57) FT

United - Collin, Keogh, Aldred, Harte, Horwood, Marshall, Clayton, Taiwo, Thirlwell, Robson (Dobie 18, Bowman 90), Price (Madine 84). Subs - Pidgeley, Murphy, Kavanagh, Kane, Madine, Bowman.

Rovers - Andersen, Regan, Lines, Elliott, Campbell, Williams (Reece 67), Heffernan, Hughes (sent-off 55), Blizzard (Swallow 72), Kuffour, Jones. Subs - Evans, Reece, Clough, Swallow, Richards, Cooper, Clarke.

1655 - Back to winning ways for The Blues as they push beyond the 50-point barrier in League One. No arguments with the result, as The Blues dominated in the second period with some good passing football which Rovers never coped with. Not long before the next game, as United travel south to take on Charlton in League One. I'll be back in 11 days time as we take on some team called Leeds United? Should be an interesting one I suppose!

FULL-TIME - Carlisle United 3 Bristol Rovers 1

90+2 min - Marshall charges into the area on the left and sees his left-foot shot deflected wide for a corner to United. Clayton takes it but it's easy for Andersen to claim.

90+1 min - United make their final change, with Scott Dobie coming off after a hard-working performance down the right and making his debut is youngster Ryan Bowman.

90 min - Sorry, but that's an embarrassing dive by Lines on the Rovers left, earning his side a free-kick for a "foul" by Keogh. Jones takes it but after the ball bobbles about a bit, Collin is able to claim a looping ball. Up the other end, Clayton tries a curling free-kick that's straight into Andersen's hands. Fourth official has indicated there will be a minimum of three minutes added time.

86 min - Ball over the top almost finds Heffernan through but spotting Collin off his line, he tries to lob him and gets it horribly wrong, putting the ball nearer the corner flag.

85 min - Clayton takes the corner and finds Madine rushing into the six-yard box but he drags his shot wide of goal. Sponsors Man of the Match today has just been announced, and it's a very deserved award to Tom Aldred.

84 min - Rovers are pushing for a goal but United are proving a constant threat on the counter attack, as Keogh and Dobie raid down the right and earn a corner. Meanwhile, Jason Price comes off for Gary Madine.

81 min - Clayton tries an ambitious chipped shot from the right-hand corner of the area, but Andersen watches it over the bar.

78 min - United are getting the "ole!" treatment from the crowd now as Rovers can't get anywhere near the ball. A move that must have seen about 20 passes eventually comes to Clayton on the edge of the box, but he spoons his left-foot volley well wide.

77 min - Keogh runs forward again and picks out Price, who tries a clever flick over the defence for Marshall to chase but it has just too much on it and Andersen comes out to claim the ball.

76 min - Clayton goes over to take a right-footed inswinger which again finds Keogh but this time his header down is stopped by a Rovers defender before being booted upfield.

75 min - Corner to United after Keogh's run is halted on the right. Clayton takes a right-footed outswinger that finds Keogh who heads towards goal where a Rovers defender somehow just flicks it over the bar. Another corner to United.

73 min - What a brilliant save by Andersen. Dobie plays the ball back across goal after getting on the end of the cross and Price has to wait for the ball to sit up before heading to goal, but the Rovers keeper gets across and palms it away.

72 min - Rovers make their second change, with Dominic Blizzard coming off for Ben Swallow.

71 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 3 Bristol Rovers 1 - Harte steps up and waits for Andersen to make the first move before rolling it other way. Very cool penalty.

71 min - PENALTY TO UNITED - A great throughball by Clayton finds Price, who is felled by a Rovers defender (I think Jones) and Harte has a chance to double his tally for the afternoon.

69 min - Some good passing play from United on the edge of the area sees Price lay it off for Dobie, but he can't get his foot around the ball and slices his shot well wide of the goal.

67 min - Rovers make their first change, with Andy Williams coming off for Charlie Reece.

66 min - Chance for Evan Horwood from 25 yards out but he drags his left-foot shot wide of the post. Still waiting for his first United goal.

63 min - It's real end to end stuff now, that red-card has brought the game to life! Rovers have just had a corner that came to Kuffour on the far side of the area, but Horwood came across and made a good block. From the second corner, it's cleared out to Clayton but he's fouled and United can relax for a moment.

61 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 2 Bristol Rovers 1 - It's gone goal crazy at Brunton Park! Clayton picks out Horwood on the left-hand side of the area, who smashes a cross/shot that is parried only as far as Jason Price, who heads into an empty net at the far post.

58 min - No-one in the press box knows who played the through ball as we were all still writing down about the United goal! It happened pretty much straight from the kick-off.

57 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 1 Bristol Rovers 1 - That's shocking defending from United, who totally switch off and Heffernan is through on goal and has an easy task of smashing the ball past Adam Collin.

56 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 1 Bristol Rovers 0 - No shock here, as Harte confidently steps up and sends Andersen the wrong way to score his 15th goal of the season.

55 min - PENALTY TO UNITED AND RED CARD TO ROVERS - Adam Clayton is brought down in the box when through on goal, and left-back Jeff Hughes is sent-off for the foul. Harte to take the penalty.

54 min - United are showing some real determination at the start of this second half, never giving Rovers a second to think on the ball. Clayton tries a clever through ball that finds Price, who tries to cut it back across goal where Stuart Campbell goes very cloes to putting it into the back of his own net, but somehow it dribbles away from the post and is cleared

52 min - Scott Dobie goes on a charging run down the right and does really well to beat two men. He sends a dangerous cross to the far post that Andersen can't come for but it just bounces up too high for Marshall, who ends up kneeing it into the grateful arms of Andersen.

49 min - Keogh plays a quck throw to Dobie, who lays it back to him. He cuts inside and tries a left-foot curler but it's sailing high and wide of the goal.

47 min - Today's attendance is 5,407.

46 min - Clever throw-in routine from United on the left, as Price peels off his man and before flicking it to Clayton, who lays it off for Price again but he crashes his left-foot volley off Clayton and behind for a goal-kick.

1605 - Both teams are back out now, with United attacking the Waterworks End in the second-half. Should have mentioned earlier, but Rovers are wearing yellow shirts and green shorts, very resminiscent of Norwich City. Makes my job easier identifying black numbers on a yellow shirt though! United kick-off the second period.

1550 - Pretty even first-half here at Brunton Park so no argument with the scoreline. With the exception of Ian Harte's free-kick, Rovers keeper Andersen hasn't really been tested. That said, neither has Adam Collin at the other end, with Harte and Aldred marshalling Kuffour and Heffernan superbly. Will be interesting to see what changes both managers consider making in the second-half. Back soon for more!

HALF-TIME - Carlisle United 0 Bristol Rovers 0

45 min - He's certainly flashing his cards about this afternoon is the referee Mr Swarbrick, as Ian Harte becomes the third United player to go into the book, after catching Heffernan in the back as he challenged for a header. No argument there really. Free-kick comes to nothing. There'll be a minimum of two minutes added time at the end of the first-half.

41 min - Harte's long pass picks out Clayton on the edge of the area, who lays it off perfectly for Marshall, but he drags his shot wide of Andersen's goal. Good passing play though by United.

39 min - Keogh is brought down by Blizzard on the right by Blizzard, free-kick United. Harte takes it, but his kick into the middle doesn't beat Jones and is cleared into the United half.

36 min - Another free-kick for United just inside the Rovers half but this time it's given as soon as the foul happens. Harte takes it again but this time his long kick is straight into the arms of Andersen.

35 min - United have a free-kick just inside the Rovers half after the referee pulls it back for a challenge despite Marshall still having the ball and running down the middle. Harte finds Keogh on the far side of the area but his headed across goal is easy pickings for Andersen.

31 min - Marshall cuts inside from the left and tries a right-foot shot but it's always going wide and it's a goal kick to Rovers.

30 min - Horwood beats his man down the left and delivers a cross to the far post that Price heads towards goal but sees his effort blocked by two defenders. Plenty of shouts from Price for a handball there, bit difficult to tell up here.

28 min - Dominic Blizzard is away down the left and beats the diving challenge of Keogh, but Aldred comes across and makes a great tackle, playing the ball off the Rovers winger to win a goal kick. He's had a really good solid debut so far.

25 min - Harte curls one towards the top corner but Andersen gets across to palm it over for a corner. Good save by the Rovers stopper. Clayton goes over and takes the corner, whipping a right-footed inswinger that Price tries to flick on at the near post but it's a Rovers defender who heads it up, and Harte gets something on it but it's Aldred who almost bundles the ball home but it goes just wide of the post. Nearly a dream debut for the Scotland U-19 international.

24 min - Keogh wins a free-kick after he's brought down by Campbell about 20-25 yards from goal. Just to the right of the "D", this is definite Harte territory.

23 min - Thirlwell is penalised for a push on Williams on the right-wing. Very soft free-kick, Williams went down a bit easily. It's Daniel Jones who takes it, whipping it in left-footed but it's easy for Collin to claim.

21 min - First yellow card of the afternoon for Rovers as Stuart Campbell is booked for a foul on Tom Taiwo, though it was a fair while after the tackle as advantage was played.

19 min - Lovely bit of skill by Clayton gets him into the area, where he beats another man and gets near the byline before waiting for the keeper to dive and trying to beat him at his near post, but Andersen is alert and makes a decent stop.

18 min - Early change for United, with Matty Robson coming off for Scott Dobie. Must be a knock for Matty, who's been pretty much ever present this season. Looks like Dobie is going to the right-wing, with Marshall switching to the left.

16 min - Thirlwell finds Keogh on the right, who cuts inside and beats two men before drilling a low left-foot shot just wide of Andersen's left-hand post. Decent effort.

11 min - The free-kick is knocked long into the box where Aldred heads it up and then Horwood spoons a clearance that looks like it's going out for a corner but a bizarre couple of bounces mean it's only a throw-in near the corner flag.

10 min - Matty Robson loses the ball in midfield and then lunges in to a tackle on Williams. Second yellow card of the afternoon and there can't be much argument with that one.

8 min - Good quick throw-in on the right from Keogh finds Clayton, who plays a ball back to him. It looks like Hughes is going to win it but Keogh gets a great block and is into the area, but his low cross is cleared in the six-yard box, with Robson waiting to tap-in.

5 min - Corner for United as Robson's cross is deflected behind off Regan. It's Robson who takes the corner himself, sending in a left-footed outswinger that makes it into the six-yard box but it's cleared and Kuffour is away down the middle with just Horwood and Thirlwell to beat. But he's tugged back by Thirlwell, earning the United captain the first yellow card of the afternoon.

3 min - First chance of the afternoon comes to United as Adam Clayton, playing in the hole just behind Jason Price, hits a 20 yard shot wide of Andersen's left hand post.

1502 - We've just got underway and United are attacking the Waterworks End in the first half (apologies, computer problems meant I couldn't tell you about the build up. It was enthralling, believe me!)

1456 - Re: that "last youth product to make their full debut before Madine and Aldred", we have two suggestions in the press box so far - Shaun Vipond and Marc Nixon. Not convinced Vipond ever started a game though!

1451 - For visitors Rovers, there's just two changes from the side involved in a seven-goal thriller against Southend last weekend. Out go Byron Anthony and  Daniel Coles, in come Carl Regan and Andy Williams. Paul Trollope's side have lost just one of their last seven games and will be looking for another win to increase their chances of a play-off place.

1447 - So a few changes for United from the side that lost to Southampton on Sunday. Out go Murphy, Bridge-Wilkinson, Kavanagh and Dobie and in come Aldred, Marshall, Taiwo and Price. For Aldred, it's his full league debut. He's the first player to come up from the youth team and make their full league debut since Gary Madine. Can anyone remember the last before that? Gold star for anyone who does!

1445 - Afternoon everyone and welcome to the Good Friday minute by minute report! It's back to league action for The Blues after the disappointment of the result at Wembley last weekend and play-off chasing Bristol Rovers are the opponents. Team news is in and can be found at the top of the page.
