After an energetic training session from the lads on Tuesday, we caught up with Richard Keogh to get his thoughts on the build up to this weekend's big game at Wembley.

He said: "The lads have been really buzzing this week and can't wait for the weekend now.

"It's been a good build up as far as results are concerned. We're going into the match unbeaten in three and full of confidence.

"A lot of people will talk about just enjoying the day but we all want to come home with the trophy. It's no use getting this far and then just taking in the occasion, we want to win some silverware.

"We've got no problem being the underdogs for this game. All the talk is of Southampton and their strengths but we've got plenty of experience in our side that will be ready for the big occasion.

"Everyone will pin point Rickie Lambert as the main threat but they've got quality throughout their side. We coped with them back in September at Brunton Park and were unlucky to only get a point from that game thanks to a late goal so we know that we are more than capable of getting a result against them.

"Them having a midweek game might be a slight distraction as they might think they still have a slight outside chance of the play-offs so that might be an advantage to us but once that game is over I'm sure their focus will be on the game on Sunday just as much as ours is.

"I've been to Wembley before with Bristol City in the Championship play-off final but it was a watching brief so to possibly get the chance to play there this Sunday will be fantastic.

"Anyone putting the ball over the bar now seems to get the "Keogh" chants! I don't mind that, it's all good banter and everyone gets a bit of stick from time to time for things like that.

"I think it's fair to say I'm somewhere near the back of the queue for penalties! But I've talked to the gaffer about it and I've got no problem at all stepping up and taking another, though I'll probably try not to hit it as hard this time.

"The Southampton fans might outnumber ours by two to one but hopefully they won't outsing them. The fans have been fantastic all season and this is their reward for that. Hopefully we can make it an even better day and win the trophy for a second time."

A video interview with Richard will be available to United Player subscribers tomorrow, along with footage from the training session.
