Carlisle United fans are being urged to turn the air blue when the teams walk out ahead of kick off on Sunday 28 March at Wembley by releasing a swathe of blue and white balloons that will be supplied by the club.

20,000 balloons, sponsored by Bank of Scotland, Reeds Printers and Nortech Atlas, have been purchased and will be distributed to supporters on the official travel coaches as they make their way down to London.

Commercial director Dick Young said: "We have over 20,000 balloons and the plan is that they will all be released when the teams take to the pitch for the official presentation ahead of kick off. 

"Hopefully it will help to stoke up the atmosphere at our end, and we think it will also provide an excellent viewing spectacle for the public watching at home on TV."

Fans who are making their own way to Wembley, and who wish to participate in the pre-match balloon release, can also collect balloons from Brunton Park from Friday 19 March onwards.
