United midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson spoke to the press on Tuesday evening following his return to the action against Yeovil Town.
He said: "It's been a bit of a wait for me but it is good to get 45 minutes under my belt.
"It's felt like it has been that long since I did play that I can't really remember when it was. I've been getting 15 minutes tops for the last four or five months, so it was nice to get involved.
"It's difficult not to be involved, but you have to be patient. It's part and parcel with football. Only 11 players can play and you need a squad of 20 plus, so some players are always going to be disappointed.
"I knew pretty much right away that I was getting on after half time. The gaffer had a word with me so I went out and did a warm up then came back in for the team talk.
"The game went along pretty much in the same way that the first half did. It wasn't the best game to watch but we were on top and I think we deserved the win.
"I played out wide, but that's something that I have done before. I played there a lot with Port Vale and, in fact, I've played in just about every position on the pitch throughout my career. It's not so much getting used to the position as getting used to the pace of the game. It's different at Reserve level because you don't get the same tempo, so it does take a while for that to come back. The more I play the better that side of it will be.
"The win over Yeovil was a big three points. It was a team that we were level with and it takes us away from them. It also takes us three points closer to the first objective, and once we hit that we can settle down and really push on. We can then see where we end up.
"I just want to play now. The more time I get on the pitch the better it will be for me. Hopefully I'll get more time on the pitch over the next three or four weeks and it will be a good end to the season for me."
