United manager Greg Abbott spoke to us about the 1-0 victory over Yeovil Town on Tuesday night.

He said: "It was a moment of quality that won that game for us and Adam Clayton is a good player.

"We want him to continue to improve that part of his game and we will also continue to try to improve the other bits, with the closing down and the ugly side of it all. If he adds that to the ability that he has already got then he could find himself being a very good player.

"He found us a goal in a game that was short of attacking quality, even though we kept getting into good areas, and it was an important finish in what was a very, very important game.

"I like Terry [Skiverton] and the way he conducts himself. I think Yeovil have done fantastically well and they made life very difficult for us. Sometimes you have to grind results out and it's pleasing that we could that, even though it wasn't the greatest game on the eye. Overall we tried to play the game the right way, and we have to be happy with that.

"It was a massive win for us because that takes us to 47 points. We're nearly at our first target, and to get there with nine games to go is really encouraging for us. We've had our ups and downs but everyone at the club has worked exceptionally hard. It's another pat on the back for the players because they keep going and they keep scrapping away for us.

"I thought Danny Livesey and Ian Harte were superb in defence and I have everything massively crossed for Danny that it's nothing too serious. It's far too early to tell, we will need to assess him over the next few days, but we hope that it's something that he will be able to shake off.

"Gary Madine is back with us now and he is an option for us. I'm trying to run a football club in the best way that I can, and I think I've dealt with his situation properly with all of the circumstances that surround it. At the end of the day he is going to be allowed to play his football and we will deal with the other matter again when it comes along. I've got a job to do, and so has he, and to be fair I think he won a few of the fans back tonight. It will take him time to win more of them over, and I've told him that, because he is public enemy number one at the moment. With the right attitude, with my help and with the way he plays his football, it might change the way people think about him. Only he can do that. He is under no illusions over what it is that is expected from him, and let's hope it is his football that does the talking from now on."
