DESERVED THE THREE POINTS

Posted on: Mon 15 Mar 2010

Defender Evan Horwood spoke to us after the 2-1 win over Colchester United at the weekend.

He said: "It was a tough game against a really big and strong opposition.

"We'd played a decent side in Millwall in midweek and maybe not done as well as we'd hoped, so we wanted to do better against Colchester, and we've done that.

"There wasn't really much argument from us with Tom's red card. I'm sure he'd tell you himself it was two daft tackles and the ref's not had much choice. But he's a young lad and he'll learn from it, and I'm sure he'll be back in the team before you know it.

"I thought we coped with going one man down superbly. It's a strange one, sometimes you find that playing against ten men is difficult as everyone works that bit extra to cover for the man disadvantage. Colchester couldn't cope with that today and I think we deserved the three points over the 90 minutes of play.

"Jason had a great debut for us. He's been the sort of player we've needed, a big target man who can get it to stick up there. Dobes and Duffy have done a great job for us but with them out injured, Jason coming in has been perfect timing. Him being in the side was the big difference between the Colchester and Millwall games. The Colchester defenders just couldn't cope with him.

"Tuesday night will be another big game for us. Yeovil are a decent team and there won't be too much to choose between the two sides, particularly at this stage of the season.

"We just have to go into the game with the same attitude we would against a top of the league side and hopefully we can pick up three points."
