United manager Greg Abbott has received a reprimand from the Football Association following his remonstrations with the officials during the first half of the Gillingham game two weeks ago, but he will not face a touchline ban.
Abbott was incensed when he spotted what appeared to be an elbow thrown at defender Ian Harte and encroached onto the pitch as he asked the question as to why no action had been taken.
Abbott said: "The situation was that the Ref missed an elbow and, had it connected properly, it could have caused a really bad injury.
"I went onto the pitch to ask why the linesman hadn't helped, but I didn't abuse anyone and I didn't swear. I also remonstrated with the fourth official, because I thought that he could have helped, and I was sent to the stands.
"I think that what has happened now is that common sense has prevailed. It looks like they know that they have missed the elbow, and that's fine, because it has been accepted that I didn't act aggressively. We can move on from it now."
