Stoke City striker Ben Marshall has extended his loan period with Carlisle United until the end of the 2009/10 season.

Marshall, 18, joined the Cumbrians at the beginning of February and has scored one goal in his seven appearances so far.

The versatile forward / wide man signed for the Potters from Crewe in July 2009 having progressed through the Railwaymen's impressive Youth system.

He has also enjoyed loan spells with Cheltenham and Northampton so far this season scoring 4 goals in his combined 24 appearances.

Greg Abbott said: "Ben has been fantastic since he joined us and we are really pleased with his contribution.

"He works hard and he is really enjoying himself here, and we think that there's more to come. We're looking forward to continuing to work with him."
