FANS URGED TO DESIGN A BOOT

Posted on: Wed 03 Mar 2010

Children in Carlisle are being invited to help Johnstone's Paint Trophy create some colour ahead of the Cumbrians' trip to the final - by creating some futuristic football boot designs.

To celebrate Carlisle's achievement in reaching the trophy final on March 28, the competition is inviting all youngsters to put their hearts, and soles, into a novel new challenge.

All children have to do is click on www.johnstonespainttrophy.com and download a special boot template, before having a shot at winning a pair of boots for themselves.

Ten runners-up will receive an official Johnstone's Paint Trophy mini-ball, which will be a smaller version of the ball used in the final at Wembley.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: "We hope that as many youngsters in Carlisle take part as possible and help make our design-a-boot competition a success.

"We are sure there will be a number of colourful creations and we look forward to seeing the finished efforts."
