Winger Kevan Hurst played an influentual role in the 5-0 win over MK Dons at the weekend. We caught up with him after the game to get his reaction on United's biggest win of the season so far.
He said: "It was a really good performance today and definitely wasn't a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show.
"We've done really well on Tuesday night to make it to Wembley which is what the fans want but they also want to see us performing well in the league and today we've done that.
"We started the game quite slowly, which was maybe understandable after Tuesday night's game. It took us maybe 20 minutes to get into the game but after that I thought we were played really well and the finishing for the goals was good too. The gaffer told us at half-time that we needed to keep doing what we'd done well for most of the first half and make sure we killed the game off which we did.
"The second half actually started pretty slowly too but then there was a ten minute period where we just kept pushing forward and they barely got out of their own half. To get those three goals so quickly was important and it killed the game off. To be honest, some of their defending was pretty poor but we still have to finish off the chances and we've done that with a very comfortable performance.
"I enjoyed taking the set-pieces again today. I used to take them all the time when I was at Scunthorpe but here we've got Kav who's got a great delivery so when he plays he takes them and I'm quite happy to chip in when I get the chance.
"It's unusual to be playing a team again such a short space of time after the previous game against them but we're going into the game against Huddersfield on Tuesday with a lot of confidence. We felt we played pretty well down at their place and deserved the point we got so we'll hope to go one better against them this week.
"It's getting to the point in the season where it's really a game by game situation. We're now at a stage where we can either do something, or end up slipping behind the pack and I think the way we're playing now we can do something.
"The chance to play at Wembley is something we've got to put to the back of our minds for now. I was in that situation at Scunthorpe last season and the league takes total priority until the end of March. I want to be successful in the league and that's the most important thing at the moment.
"Once the weekend of the final comes along we can go down with the players, staff and fans and have a great day but until then, we won't be thinking about it."
