CARLISLE UNITED 5 (Harte 21, Robson 39, Duffy 63, Dobie 71, Anyinsah 73) MK DONS 0 FT
United - Collin, Keogh, Livesey, Harte, Murphy, Hurst, Clayton, Thirlwell (Taiwo 79), Robson (Marshall 76), Dobie (Anyinsah 72), Duffy. Subs - Pidgeley, Bridge-Wilkinson, Offiong, Kane.
MK Dons - Gueret, Stirling (Flanagan 82), Lewington, Gleeson, Wilbraham, Tuncliffe, Davis (Rae 72), Leven, Morgan (Gobern 53), Chadwick, Townsend. Subs - Carrington, Howell, Randall, Harrison.
1700 - Now that's what you call a comprehensive victory. United really turned it on in the second half, playing some of their best football of the season and gaining a deserved five goal victory. Plenty of top performers out there this afternoon and it'll give Greg Abbott lots to consider for Tuesday night's game against Huddersfield Town (all good though!), which I'll be back to cover again so if you can't get down to Brunton Park, join me for more League One action.
FULL-TIME - Carlisle United 5 MK Dons 0
90+4 min - Bit of late pressure from the Dons sees the ball come to Gobern at the far post but Keogh throws himself at his shot, giving the visitors a corner. That's taken by Leven but is easily cleared by the United defence.
90+2 min - After Anyinsah wins a corner, Hurst sends a high and long ball in that Taiwo recovers on the right wing before being fouled by Wilbraham near the corner flag. Harte whips in the cross that causes problems but is somehow cleared to safety by the Dons defence.
90+1 min - Almost six, as Anyinsah latches on to a Clayton through ball and absolutely smashes the ball against the cross bar from the edge of the box. Gueret was well beaten there.
90 min - The fourth official has indicated there will be a minimum of five minutes added time at the end of the game.
88 min - Matty Robson's just picked up the Sponsors Man of the Match. To be honest, it could have been any one of four or five players. Meanwhile, Marshall cuts in from the right and hits a powerful left foot shot that Gueret does well to turn around his post.
85 min - Another chance for the Dons, as Chadwick skips though the United defence on the left before cutting back onto his right foot and curling a shot just wide of the far post.
84 min - In a rare foray forward, Townsend twists and turns before hitting a shot that deflects off Livesey and loops over and wide of Collin's goal. The corner is easily cleared and Duffy is almost away but his touch is a bit too much and goes straight through to Gueret.
82 min - The Dons make their final change, taking off Stirling and bringing on Tom Flanagan.
81 min - Great counter attacking play from United sees Anyinsah find Hurst on the left, who plays a clever ball back but Tunnicliffe gets a foot in as Joe's about to pull the trigger. The corner from Hurst is high and long to the far post and is cleared to safety.
79 min - United make their final change, with captain Paul Thirlwell given a well earned rest and Tom Taiwo coming on for the last ten minutes.
77 min - United have a free kick on the left that Harte whips in and Lewington puts out for a corner with Marshall lurking at the far post. Hurst goes over and takes the kick which finds Harte who sends in a thumping header that goes just over the bar.
76 min - United make their second change, with Matty Robson coming off for Ben Marshall. Matty's had a storming second half and Stirling will be glad to see the back of him.
73 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 5 MK Dons 0 - It's an absolute rout now! Murphy gets to the byline and cuts back a cross that Duffy dummies and Anyinsah sides foots past Gueret. That's pretty much his first touch too!
72 min - That's Dobie's last contribution today too, as he's replaced by Joe Anyinsah. The Dons also make a change, with Sol Davis coming on for Alex Rae.
71 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 4 MK Dons 0 - Too easy for United, as Robson dinks a lovely cross over for Scott Dobie who brings it down on his knee before hitting it past Gueret to put United 4 up. Game over now surely.
70 min - Matty Robson makes a mug of Stirling on the halfway line and is away down the wing. He gets to the box and tries to cut it back to Duffy but it's well intercepted by Tunnicliffe and cleared to safety.
69 min - Another run by Keogh, this time down the right and he whips in an early ball that finds Duffy perfectly but his sidefoot volley goes just over the bar. Great football again.
68 min - Keogh goes on a maraudering run through the middle like he does and is cynically tripped by Sol Davis and he's booked.
66 min - United have really started to turn it on now and some of the football down the left has been sublime, culminating in Hurst getting onto a Clayton pass and seeing his low shot well saved by Gueret. That was only one of about 4 chances in the space of 20 seconds but I really couldn't keep up with it! Meanwhile, Andros Townsend is booked for dissent after booting the ball away when he wasn't given a corner. He may have had a case but still, it was a bit of a childish reaction.
63 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 3 MK Dons 0 - That's a 3 goal lead for United now and nothing more than their play in the second half has deserved. Good play down the left from Thirlwell, who splits the defence with a pass for Robson who gets to the byline before hitting a low cross that Darryl Duffy sidefoots into the net for his first goal for United.
60 min - A ball over the top is missed by the Dons defence and catches everyone out leaving Duffy through one on one with Gueret. The pitch doesn't help him though and when he finally gets the ball under control, he hits a powerful shot that's well saved by Gueret, with Tunnicliffe getting back and making a good tackle on the rebound.
58 min - Clumsy late tackle by Chadwick on Clayton and this time he does pick up a booking. Harte comes over and whips in a free-kick from the right wing byline that almost catches out Gueret but he claims well on his goal line.
53 min - MK Dons make their first change, with Dean Morgan coming off for Lewis Gobern.
51 min - Good passing play from MK Dons opens up the United defence and Peter Leven tries a shot from the edge of the area that Murphy blocks to concede a corner which is easily cleared by United.
49 min - Today's attendance is 4,930.
47 min - United win an early corner on the left wing. Hurst takes it and finds Dobie at the far post, who heads back across the six yard box where Duffy clips it towards goal but there's a good block by an MK Dons defender who then hacks the ball clear.
1607 - Both teams are back out on the pitch now and there's no changes for either side. MK Dons get us underway.
1552 - So United go into the break 2-0 up against an MK Dons side who have probably had some of the better chances but have been nowhere near as clinical at The Blues. More from me shortly.
HALF-TIME - Carlisle United 2 MK Dons 0
45+3 min - A late challenge by Chadwick on Keogh gives United a free kick. Surprisingly no booking though. Harte's free kick is whipped in with pace but punched away by Gueret.
45+1 min - Robson wins a corner on the left wing. Hurst takes a right-footed inswinger that Harte can't quite get on the end of and it's headed over for another corner. Hurst takes it again, but it's cleared by Wilbraham this time.
45 min - There will be a minimum of three minutes added time at the end of the first half.
43 min - A golden chance to make it 3-0 but somehow Matty Robson misses. Clayton plays another superb ball over the top for Dobie, who beats the offside trap again and gets to the byline before cutitng back and putting it on a plate for Robson, but he tries a first time right foot shot and scoops it miles over the bar.
39 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 2 MK Dons 0 - A second for United and it comes after a litlte slice of luck. Adam Clayton tries a shot from 30 yards that deflects off a Dons midfielder and loops over Tunnicliffe, falling nicely for Matty Robson who drills it in first time off the far post to give United a two goal lead.
38 min - It's been quiet for a bit since that last incident, but Wilbraham has jsut seen a volley from the edge of the box well held by Adam Collin.
31 min - Getting a bit feisty here, as Scott Dobie is booked for a late challenge on Stephen Gleeson, who reacts badly and is booked as well. Maybe a litlte harsh that booking on Scott and Gleeson possibly a bit lucky to only get booked for his reaction.
29 min - Cross from the right by Stirling finds Wilbraham at the far post who heads towards goal only for Collin to make a smart stop near his post, recovering quickly to pick up the loose ball.
27 min - Handball on the left wing edge of the box gives United a free kick. Hurst comes over and whips in a low ball that gets caught up in a bit of a scramble and is somehow cleared away to safety.
26 min - Clayton chips the ball over the top and Dobie beats the offside trap, but he tries a powerful shot from a tight angle and it goes well over.
21 min - GOAL! Carlisle United 1 MK Dons 0 - Mistake by Gleeson earns United a corner on the right. Hurst goes over and takes a right-footed outswinger that finds Ian Harte, who heads home his 12th goal of the season.
20 min - Another corner from Townsend, who finds Tunnicliffe but his header is cleared off the line and over by Clayton. The next corner is cleared out for another corner by Murphy and the final corner almost goes straight in but is very well claimed by Collin.
19 min - Free kick to MK Dons after a foul by Thirlwell on Townsend. Morgan steps up and it deflects off the wall and just wide of the post, giving the Dons a corner.
13 min - Good pressure from Keogh on the right forces a mistake from Gleeson and gives United a corner. Hurst takes it to the near post where Dobie flicks it on but no-one's on the middle to get a touch on it. Dobie then puts Stirling under pressure from a cross to earn another corner. This time Hurst's kick finds its way to the edge of the box where Clayton has a fresh-air shot and it's cleared to safety.
10 min - Townsend takes the corner on the Dons right wing and finds Stirling gets his head onto it which is going to sneak in at the far post but Clayton heads it over for another corner. Townsend takes it again but it's easily cleared this time.
9 min - Morgan tries a shot from distance for the Dons that sees Collin palm it over for a corner.
8 min - MK Dons do appear to have a very potent weapon in their side in right-back Jude Stirling and his throw-ins. He can throw it further than I can kick it!
6 min - Bit of a quiet start from both sides, neither keeper has been anywhere near tested yet.
2 min - We don't normally do birthday wishes on the min by min... but as it's United captain Paul Thirlwell's 31st birthday today, we'll make an exception! I expect his birthday wish is 3 points so hopefully that'll come true!
1501 - The two teams are now out doing the usual handshakes and line-ups before the game. Looks like United are going to be kicking off this afternoon and will be attacking the Waterworks End in the first half. Duffy and Thirlwell get us underway.
1455 - Taking up assistant referee duties will be Mark Astley and Simon Clayton, with Tony Harrington in the fourth official role.
1454 - Today's referee is Eddie Ilderton from Tyne & Wear. He has already taken charge of a United game at Brunton Park this season when he was ref for the Carling Cup First Round clash against Oldham Athletic last August. United ran out winners that evening thanks to Scott Dobie's 89th minute goal. Two players were booked, with Hazell seeing yellow for Oldham and Kavanagh for United.
1449 - It was of course, contrasting fortunes for the two teams playing this afternoon in midweek. While United were celebrating making it to Wembley in the Northern Area Final of the JPT, MK Dons were beaten in the Southern Area Final by Southampton. So while Greg Abbott will be looking for his players not to get carried away and concentrate on the league, Paul Ince in the other dugout will be looking to pick up his players after their midweek disappointment.
1447 - There's also a welcome reutrn to the bench for Joe Anyinsah for The Blues after his recovery from a stomach bug.
1445 - For the Dons, there's three changes from the side that lost 3-1 at Southampton in the JPT in midweek. Dropping out are Mark Randall, Luke Howell and Dan Woodwards. Coming in are Sol Davis, Townsend and James Tunnicliffe, with Tunnicliffe making his debut after signing on a months loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.
1439 - So two changes for United from the side that was involved in that incredible penalty shoot out on Tuesday night against Leeds. Missing out is Evan Horwood, who has a bruised foot. He's replaced by Peter Murphy. Dropping to the bench is Graham Kavanagh, with Darryl Duffy back after missing out in midweek due to being cup-tied.
1435 - Afternoon everyone, hope you've all recovered from the excitement of Tuesday night and are ready for more action this afternoon! It's back to League One of course, with United taking on play-off contenders MK Dons. Full team news is now in and can be seen at the top of the page.
