TROPHY FEVER GRIPS CARLISLE
Carlisle United fans have responded to the rallying call and will be at Brunton Park in numbers for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern area final second leg on Tuesday night as the Cumbrians hope to build on their one goal first leg lead over Leeds United by taking the final step towards a Wembley final in March.
At close of play today, ticket sales to home fans stood at 7,061 with a steady flow of supporters taking up the opportunity to purchase their match tickets ahead of the 2pm ticket sale cut-off deadline on Tuesday afternoon (9 FEB).
With away fan sales figures reported at approximately 1,300 Carlisle United officials are predicting an attendance in the region of 9,000 fans for the crucial area decider.
Ticket office manager Christine Metcalfe said: "Ticket sales at the Cumberland Building Society on Fisher Street and here at the ground have been brisk all day.
"We have sold approximately 1,500 during trading hours throughout today and everyone has been really upbeat. It's obvious that it's a game that everyone is looking forward to, and we expect another steady day of sales tomorrow ahead of the 2pm deadline."
Manager Greg Abbott said: "We have asked the fans to come out in force and I think they are responding to that.
"They have been superb this season, and when you see them in places like Exeter and Colchester, and you hear them outsinging the home fans, it puts the hairs up on the back of your neck.
"If we can get that kind of atmosphere here tomorrow night then it will be just as good for us as it is for Leeds when they have 30,000 singing them on at Elland Road.
"The fans have a big part to play in this, and I'm sure they'll be with us all the way."
Police advice following recent consultation with club officials means that there will be no cash sales at the turnstiles for home or away supporters for the game, which kicks off at 7pm on Tuesday night.
Fans are also advised to get their tickets early ahead of the 2pm Tuesday deadline to avoid late queues at the ticket office windows.
Tickets for the game can be purchased over the phone by ringing 0844 371 1921 or by clicking HERE to visit our online sales section of the Official Site. The ticket booth at the Cumberland Building Society offices in Fisher Street will be open until 2pm on Tuesday.

Goals from Graham Kavanagh and Joe Anyinsah mean that United take a 2-1 lead into the second leg and with an excellent record against their visitors, who recently knocked Premier League giants Manchester United out of the FA Cup, it is already building up to be another mouthwatering game.
Competition rules clarified:
