Ben Marshall spoke to us after he scored his first goal for Carlisle United as the on-loan Stoke winger earned the Cumbrians a well deserved point against Huddersfield Town.

"It was a good game," he said. "Certainly whilst I was sat on the bench it was entertaining to watch, and I suppose that towards the end it would have been the same. Luckily for me I got my first goal for Carlisle."

Marshall, 18, converted Matty Robson's cross in the 83rd minute as Carlisle became only the fifth club this season to take a point from the Galpharm Stadium.

"I was over the moon," he told us. "I had a chance earlier on and I was a bit disappointed with myself. Then I got another chance and took it, so I'm really over the moon. I saw the ball going into the box, so I made a run and checked off the defender and put it away."

It became Marshall's fifth of the season after he bagged four goals during two loan spells with Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town earlier in the campaign.

It was his first at this level though and he hopes to add more during his month long loan spell at Brunton Park.

"My game is to score goals," he concluded. "Defending is not really my game, but that's something that I have got to work on. My aim is just to continue this now and to keep scoring goals for the club."
