CARLISLE UNITED 0 STOCKPORT COUNTY 0 FT
United - Collin, Keogh, Livesey, Harte, Horwood (Madine 87), Hurst (Offiong 79), Taiwo, Kavanagh (Dobie 46 SENT-OFF 72), Clayton, Robson, Anyinsah. Subs - Pidgeley, Bridge-Wilkinson, Murphy, Thirlwell.
County - Fon Williams, Mullins, Raynes, Swailes, Rose, Partridge, Vincent, Perkins, Pilkington, Johnson, Ibehre (SENT-OFF 81). Subs - Gerrard, Turnbull, Tansey, Griffin, Halls, Edwards, Rowe.
1658 - A tight game at Brunton Park today ends honours even. I suspect both managers won't be too complimentary about the ref's performance after that one, the fans certainly haven't been! That Clayton chance was so close to going in at the end, it really was a top draw save from Williams in the County goal. United are next in action on Tuesday at Exeter before returning to Brunton Park next weekend. Join me again for more min by min action next Saturday!
FULL-TIME - Carlisle United 0 Stockport County 0
90+4 min - What a shot from Clayton and what a save from Williams! That volley from 25 yards was flying into the top corner before he clawed it over for a corner. Robson sends in the corner and Madine flicks it towards goal but it goes over.
90+3 min - Offiong is away down the left after a superb pass by Clayton. He gets into the area but the angle's tight and he scuffs his left-foot shot well wide.
90+1 min - Robson smashes a shot from the edge of the area that flies just wide of the post. All United at the moment.
90 min - There will be a minimum of four minutes added time.
89 min - Harte twists and turns before hitting powerful shot from 30 yards that Williams parries and collects at teh second attempt.
88 min - That's quite possibly one of the worst shots I've ever seen. Partridge gets away down the rights and cuts a cross back to Ibehre, who mis-kicks his shot so badly it goes out for a throw in a position further behind where he's standing.
87 min - United make their final change, with Evan Horwood coming off for Gary Madine.
84 min - Horwood plays in Robson on the left hand side of the area and he smashes a shot that goes into the side netting.
82 min - Harte is back on the pitch but is hobbling quite a bit too.
81 min - RED CARD - Another red, this time it's a Stockport player. Jabo Ibehre goes in late on Harte and gets his second booking of the game. Can't really argue with that one either.
80 min - Keogh gets pulled inside and Rose is found in acres of space on the left. He hits a low cross that misses everyone and goes out for a throw-in on the far side.
79 min - United make their second change, with Kevan Hurst coming off for Richard Offiong. Anyinsah will now switch to the right, with Offiong going straight up front.
76 min - United are currently playing one upfront after Dobie's sending-off. The fans are still furious with the ref and it's not hard to see why.
74 min - To be fair, the ref had little choice but to send Scott off there, but Swailes should have been punished too and it also looked a blatant penalty.
72 min - RED CARD - Chaos at Brunton Park, as Scott Dobie is given his marching orders, I think for raising his arms to Swailes. It all came after Dobie wasn't given a penalty for what looked like a clear trip and Swailes said something to him. Unbeliavably, Swailes appears to have got away with his part in it.
70 min - Ironic cheers from the Brunton park faithful as the ref appears to give United a free-kick... but he's actually signalled a throw-in. Not long after, Joe Anyinsah is bizarrely booked for standing in the goalkeepers way, despite giving him more than enough space to kick it out!
68 min - Livesey misjudges a long ball and Johnson is through on goal. Collin comes out and just gets something on it, with Harte finishing off the clearance to safety.
67 min - Up the other end and Livesey is penalised for appearing to win a tackle. I know I'm a bit biased but there's some odd decision going on out there right now. Rose takes a shot at goal from the free kick but it's straight at Collin.
66 min - Great dummy by Hurst down the right sees Anyinsah one on one with Swailes. He beats him and then another defender comes across and cleans him out but incredibly, the ref says no penalty. The United fans are incensed, as is Greg Abbott on the touchline..
64 min - Quick one touch football from United sees Dobie almost play in Robson down the middle but he's just a bit ahead of the ball and Stockport gratefully clear to safety.
63 min - Corner to United on the left as Robson's cross is blocked by Mullins. Robson takes an outswinginger to the near post where Livesey slices his shot and it's a goal kick.
61 min - Corner to County after Livesey blocks Perkins low cross. Pilkington takes it long to the far post where Dobie heads clear to safety. Not long after, Hurst makes a superb block as Vincent shoots from the edge of the area and then Ibehre hits a stunning curling volley that clips Collin's bar and goes over.
59 min - Another free kick for County as Perkins, who is spending more time on his backside than on his feet at the moment, goes down under a Clayton trip. A quiet word of warning from the ref for Clayton there.
57 min - Another soft free kick for the visitors as Taiwo fouls Perkins. Rose chips it into the box from 30 yards but Collin comes and makes an excellent catch under pressure from the considerable presence of Jabo Ibehre.
56 min - Anyinsah does well again down the right and plays Keogh through down the wing. He cuts inside and looks like he's tripped right on the edge of the box but the ref gives nothing.
55 min - United lose possession in the County half and the visitors make a quick counter attack through Johnson. He runs at Keogh before cutting inside and totally scuffing his shot, sending it nearer the corner flag than the goal.
53 min - Free kick to United near the right wing corner flag. Harte whips in a cross that's punched away by Williams as far as Livesey, who heads it back in and Anyinsah gets on it but his header goes just over the bar.
52 min - Anyinsah does brillaintly down the right to beat two men and sets Hurst away. He sends in a vicious low cross that Williams does well to claw away with Dobie waiting to tap in.
49 min - United have started this second half very brightly and Stockport are struggling to cope. Hurst has been involved a lot so far and he again wins a header on the right, playing it to Anyinsah who drives a volleyed cross into the box that Williams does well to claim.
47 min - Best chance of the game so far and United are oh so close to taking the lead. Anyinsah superbly controls a long ball down the left-wing before cutting inside and lofting the ball over to the right hand side of the area. He finds Hurst who takes a touch before lofting a volley over Williams but the ball hits the post and rolls along the line before being cleared to safety.
46 min - Today's attendance is 4,966.
1607 - United get us underway in the second half and there's one change for the Blues - Scott Dobie coming on for Graham Kavanagh.
1551 - Not the best of games by any means. Neither keeper has been properly tested and it's been a stalemate in midfield. Still plenty to play for here, but let's just hope the quality is a bit better in the second period. Back soon!
HALF-TIME Carlisle United 0 Stockport County 0
45+1 min - The fourth official has indicated there will be 2 minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.
45 min - Another free kick to County after Richard Keogh brings down Pilkington, despite having his own shirt pulled all over the place. Booking for the United man. Rose steps up to take the free kick and has a shot at goal but Collin easily holds onto it.
44 min - Evan Horwood gets a booking for a tackle that didn't even look like a free kick. The long free kick from Fon Willaims into the United half is easily cleared.
43 min - It's chucking it down here at Brunton Park now and United are dominating possession still but finding the County defence hard to break down.
41 min - Good play down the left by Horwood and Robson sees the latter win United a corner. Kav takes a right-footed inswinger but again it's well cleared by the County defence. From the clearance, County break down the middle and Johnson looks like he might have a chance but he's stopped by a combination of Horwood and Keogh.
38 min - With Anyinsah clearly being pulled all over the place by Raynes, the referee gives a free kick... to Stockport. Not endearing himself to the United faithful is Mr Sarginson.
37 min - Free kick to Stockport on the right after Horwood fouls Partridge. Rose takes a left-footed inswinger from 40 yards but it's easily headed away by Livesey under no pressure.
35 min - Bad tackle by Michael Raynes on Robson and the County captain is the seocnd player booked this afternoon. Free-kick to United on the left-wing, which Kav takes, whipping the ball into the box but it's easily cleared by Raynes.
34 min - It's not a "classic" out there today, very few chances so far as both teams continue to try and win the battle in midfield.
30 min - Corner to United on the right. Kav goes over and takes a right-footed outswinger that's cleared out of the box but finds its way back out to the right wing. Kav has another try but this time his low cross is cleared by Perkins to safety.
28 min - Jemal Johnson tries what can only be described as an "ambitious" effort at goal from 40 yards out which flies over the bar. Well struck but always rising.
27 min - Cross from Rose on the left takes a big deflection and goes out for a County corner. Pilkington takes it short and gets it back but his attempt at a cross is blocked out for another corner. This time he whips it in to the near post where Collin does well to punch to safety while under pressure from a County player.
26 min - Anyinsah and Kav link well down the left and the latter sends in a cross that takes a big deflection but is watched all the way by Fon Williams who claims under pressure from Clayton.
24 min - Good possession play by United in the County half sees the ball come to Clayton in space but he hits his 30 yard shot over the bar.
22 min - What a superb save by Collin. A cross from the left by Pilkington causes chaos and Johnson gets a slight flick towards goal and from point blank range, Collin claws it away from goal and Harte completes the clearance to safety.
21 min - Partridge finds Johnson in the box, who twists and turns with his back to goal before hitting a clever quick shot that goes into the side netting. Good effort from the Hatters forward.
19 min - First booking of the afternoon goes to Stockport forward Jabo Ibehre for a late tackle on Tawio. No complaints from the County man.
16 min - Free kick to County on the halfway line, despite it looking like Taiwo clearly won the ball. It's taken long into the box but Harte watches it and lets the ball go out for a goal kick.
11 min - The corner from Kav on the left doesn't find a United man and Stockport break and Partridge looks like he's away down the right but Robson gets back to make a good tackle and put it out for a throw-in.
10 min - It is Harte who takes it and the ball takes a big deflection off the wall and goes behind for a corner.
9 min - Hurst plays a lovely chip over the top that see Anyinsah through on goal. He's held up as the defence get back but is then tripped, giving United a free-kick just on the edge of the D. Perfect shooting distance for Harte or Kav.
7 min - Bit of a scrappy start from both sides, with no clear cut chances. United probably just about shading the possession.
3 min - Neat passing play by Stockport sees the ball come out to Partridge on the right who whips in a cross that goes over everyone and out for a throw-in on the far side.
1503 - So it's going to be Stockport who kick us off this afternoon, with United attacking the Waterworks End in the first half.
1501 - United are wearing their usual blue home shirts with white shorts and white socks, while Stockport are wearing a kit that you really can't miss - bright orange wiht black shorts and socks.
1500 - Little bit late, but finally the teams are out to do the usual pre-match line-ups and handshakes. Great to see Adam Clayton back at Brunton Park until the end of the season. Today's game is also Tom Taiwo's "home debut" after his permanent signing from Chelsea.
1458 - Also, the BBC cameras today are following United chairman Andrew Jenkins around for the new "Late Kick-Off" show on BBC 1 on Monday nights at 11.35pm. Watch this week's show to see what he gets up to on a match day.
1455 - Fans who watch the BBC's coverage of League One on The Football League Show will know that they have a "Potted History" section during the programme that gives you little interesting facts on whichever club they feature each week. Well their reporter Mark Clemmit was at Brunton Park this morning filming United's "Potted History" for use on a future episode of the show. Keep an eye out for it!
1453 - The United players are heading off the pitch and back into the dressing room and getting a great reception from the fans in the process. It's weird to think it's been almost six weeks since we had a game here at Brunton Park. Hopefully the lads can make up for that wait with a good performance this afternoon!
1450 - The world seems to have gone twitter mad over the last year or so and we're no different here at United. Kitman and Media Officer Andy Hall has been keeping fans up to date on his twitter page this season with the dramas of his job. Follow him now by visiting twitter.com/cufckit.
1445 - Today's ref is Mr Chris Sarginson from Staffordshire, who is refereeing a United game for the first time. It's his second season as a Football League referee and so far this campaign, he's handed out 55 yellow and 4 red cards in 20 games. His two assistants are Glen Hart and Dave McCallum, with Jonathan Hunt in the fourth official role.
1442 - No changes to Stockport's starting line-up from their 1-0 midweek defeat to Swindon Town. That game saw the Hatters set a new club record for debutants in a game that wasn't a season opener, with five players making their first starts for the club.
1436 - So two changes to the United line-up from the win at Leeds United on Tuesday night, with Joe Anyinsah coming in for Scott Dobie and Adam Collin replacing Lenny Pidgeley. On the bench, Paul Thirlwell returns after being rested at Elland Road and back among the subs after his loan spell at Coventry City is Gary Madine.
1432 - As it's a new year, we've had a bit of a change to the min by min report - the line-ups will now appear at the top of the page once we have the team sheets and I'll endeavour to keep them up to date during the game! As we've already got the team sheet, the line-ups can be seen above.
1430 - Afternoon all and welcome to the first minute by minute report of the new decade! Amazingly, it's been over a month (39 days to be precise) since United played a home fixture, that game being the 3-0 win over Bradford City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Now it's back to league action as The Blues take on bottom of the table Stockport County. They may be struggling but with five new signings made earlier this week, the Hatters have renewed belief in their battle against the drop.
