Manager Greg Abbott spoke to us at the Thursday morning press conference:

"It's been a less hectic week for us in terms of fixtures, but we have still made the importance of a positive result on Saturday very clear to the players.

"We made ourselves very hard to beat against Gillingham, and we have done it at places like Leeds as well, and teams will always come here looking to do the same to us. What we have got to do is stay patient, because things might not happen for us in the first ten or fifteen minutes. We sometimes have to grind results out, because that's the nature of the game.

"We watched Wycombe against Huddersfield and they looked like a side that could score, but they also looked like a side that could concede. Gary [Waddock] has tightened things up since then and they have had some good results. They will come here with a game plan and I'm sure they'll work their socks off and they will be patient. We'll have to keep the ball moving and get it into areas that we think will hurt them as early as possible.

"Wycombe will be a real threat because this is a tight league. They had that heavy defeat against Huddersfield but they won the following game, away at Millwall, by 2-0. That shows you just how dangerous they can be.

"We just want to keep performing now. If we keep playing in this way then that will tell us that we're going along the right lines. If we perform to the best that we can then we think that will win us the game.

"The players feel that they're winning the battle at the moment and I don't think that they want to go back to fighting in a relegation scrap. They are enjoying their work, and the last thing they want is another Millwall situation at the end of the season where we need to win to stay up. We have started to look forward with real optimism, but we have to keep our focus and make sure that we do go on to achieve what I think we're capable of.

"The players know the system that we'll use on Saturday. Whether it is called 4-3-3, 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 on the day is always up for debate, whichever one we use. We'll work on what we think Wycombe will do ahead of the weekend and we'll look at exactly how we want to play, and hopefully we'll come out on top again.

"The message from me on Saturday is let's really go and take the game to Wycombe. Let's see if they can put up with what we have got to offer."
