Greg Abbott spoke to us about a number of issues as the team heads towards another big game at the weekend.
He said: "It's very wet around Cumbria at the moment so things aren't brilliant as far as getting training facilities sorted is concerned.
"We're getting through it though because our groundsman has been terrific with us. He has worked on the training pitch and he has found us areas where we can get our sessions completed. We'll be as right as we can be come Saturday.
"We've had more good talks with the lads who are here on loan [Pericard, Taiwo and Clayton] and work will continue on that. We can't say when that'll be sorted, but it has been encouraging so far. Hopefully we will do that sooner rather than later so that we all know where we stand.
"If they do commit to us then we might well find that we don't have to do too much in January. If somebody comes in for ours then that would mean that we would have to react, but we're not a million miles off with where we are now. If something does come up where we would definitely be improving the squad then we would be silly not to react, but we have shown recently that we have a decent squad. Getting those three lads signed up is the key, as we need to keep the improvement going.
"We have a really good spirit around the place at the moment. If players are left out they understand why and they work with us on that. If they do start to feel despondent they come and talk to me and we have always managed to keep things upbeat. Players are here now because they want to be here and we want them to be here, and that's a good situation for the club.
"If the dressing room is together then you always have a chance. Even when we were going through the difficult run they were right behind us, and that's when you know that you have a real chance of turning it around and of kicking on. They enjoy working with each other and we want to keep that going. I'm happy with the group that we've got and it is important to bring the right types in so that it doesn't upset that balance.
"We have Wycombe next and this will be the toughest home game that we've had for a while. They are in a situation that we were in just a few weeks ago and they will want the points. There are no easy games in this league and we will have to be right on top of our game if we want to get something. We have to start the game right and we have to make sure that our mental attitude is spot on.
"The result is really important because we have just started to put a decent run together. If we want to keep it going then we have to do the hard work."
