United captain Paul Thirlwell spoke to us about the visit of Tranmere as he put his programme notes together for this weekend's game.
He said: "It seems like the first home game for a while and it goes without saying that we want to play well for the fans.
"People are talking about the home form, but I don't think it's down to any lack of confidence, or anything like that.
"The longer it goes without a win, you just want to put it to bed, but we know that we could have won against Brentford and Exeter.
"It's fine lines between winning and losing at times, so we'll keep working hard and the results will come if we keep doing what we're doing."
On the new manager at Prenton Park, he said: "Tranmere haven't got off to the best of starts but I'm sure that John Barnes will be trying to change that.
"I'm sure they'll come here and try to play football and it should be a decent game to watch.
"If we start games like we have been recently, and get on top early, then I'm sure we'll go on to win it."
