WINGER IN TALKS

Posted on: Tue 11 Aug 2009

Cleveland Taylor is today in talks with Brentford as news comes through that the clubs have agreed a deal that could see the winger complete a move to last season's League Two champions.

Taylor, 25, joined United from Scunthorpe for £65,000 in the January 2008 transfer window but could move once the details have been finalised.

The unsettled wide man submitted a formal transfer request in June for personal reasons and has been the subject of a number of enquiries from Brentford manager Andy Scott, the last coming just 24-hours ahead of the opening day of the season clash between the two sides at Brunton Park on Saturday.

Greg Abbott said: "The clubs have agreed, and we are at the point where the player is being allowed to talk things over with Andy Scott.

"He will not play a part tonight because he has travelled down with a view to completing a medical on Wednesday."
