TRIBUNAL DATE POSTPONED

Posted on: Wed 22 Jul 2009

Carlisle United can confirm that the Football League tribunal hearing into striker Danny Graham's summer move away from Cumbria has been postponed at the request of Watford Football Club.

The panel, due to convene at Football League Headquarters on 27 July 2009 to make a decision on the fee to be paid by the Hornets for the services of the front-man, will now have to wait for a new date to be set due to a clash with pre-season friendly fixtures for the Hertfordshire-based club.

Watford initially tabled a £25,000 offer at the beginning of this month but that was immediately rejected by the Cumbrians, who had previously turned down a £250,000 bid for their top-scorer from Huddersfield during the January transfer window.

Co-owner John Nixon said: "We turned down bids earlier in the season simply because we valued the player at a much higher level.

"We have had other offers since then and they still haven't matched what we expected to get, so we were keen to get the issue resolved at a tribunal later this month. Obviously it is disappointing that it has now been postponed, but we hope to get a new date fixed sooner rather than later."
