IMPORTANT TO STAY PATIENT

Posted on: Thu 02 Jul 2009

United gaffer Greg Abbott admitted this morning that he would like to see a further three new players come in to the squad ahead of the season kick off.

He said: "If Ben Williams goes then we need a goalkeeper, and we need to replace Danny Graham.

"Ben's deal would involve a striker coming this way, and we would possibly need one more on top of that at the moment.

"We obviously have to see how the season starts," he said, "and we may find that we feel that we're a little short through lack of form, or whatever, but that's something that you hope won't happen.

"We're not a million miles away with where we are right now, but we do have to be patient as we wait and see what is out there. We want to bring in the players to make us better than what we are, and it's a case of following up on the enquiries that we are making."

"It may happen for us quickly, or we may have to talk to these players and their advisers for a bit longer, but the important thing is that we stay patient as we try to make things better for this club."
