KEEPER DECISION SOON
Manager Greg Abbott hopes to have more information on the future of 'keeper Ben Williams by the end of this weekend as the future of the big stopper remains in the balance following talks with Colchester United.
Williams, 26, joined United from Crewe ahead of last season but has been a target for Paul Lambert for a number of weeks.
Abbott said: "We would hope to have some more news on what might happen as quickly as possible.
"We can't force things, because it is out of our hands a little bit, but we want to know what we are doing and we want to be able to move forward on it. Hopefully we'll have more information on the situation this weekend. Obviously we need to know whether we need to bring another player in to cover that position, or whether Ben will be staying, so it's in everyone's interest to bring it to a close sooner rather than later."
On the continuing search for a goalkeeper coach, he told us: "Talks have been ongoing with that one and, again, we hope to have it resolved fairly quickly.
"I've had some very positive conversations, and it's a position that we want to have filled, so it's one that we are working hard to finalise."
