United's meetings with Leeds have been excellent viewing spectacles over recent campaigns, and manager Greg Abbott is delighted that both the home and away games for the coming season have been scheduled as Tuesday evening kick offs.
He said: "The games against Leeds will have an edge whenever they are played.
"They are both on Tuesday nights this season, and night games always have their own special kind of atmosphere anyway. Mind you, if they were played on a Sunday night at 11pm they'd still have that feeling, simply because of the way that our games tend to go against them. I do enjoy night games though, so it has the potential to be even more special because of that this season."
"To be honest, all of the games we have played against Leeds so far could have been on SKY," he admitted, "and they would have been a fantastic advert for League One football if they had been. They've all been really exciting to watch and long may that continue.
"Our record against them has been very good, and I know they are games that our fans look forward to. I'm sure they will be one of the favourites to go up, along with the likes of Southampton, Charlton and Norwich."
"Those teams are bound to be tagged as favourites," he said, "mostly because of their recent stature and history. However, it's not always easy to adjust when you drop down a division and not everyone will go straight back up. They will be made to work hard for the right to be called favourites, and most teams will be looking forward to playing them."
