Young Millwall fan Teddy Alison was given a day to remember when United played host to the Lions for the last game of the season, as club vice-president Alan Irving gave the last-minute guest the VIP treatment when he arrived at Brunton Park.

Teddy's dad Steve contacted the club very late in the day to explain that they were on their way down from Scotland, and wondered whether it would be possible to give Teddy the opportunity to be the away team mascot for the match.

Commercial controller Jenny Anderson had no hesitation in booking the young fan in to the ground, and Alan took over with a behind-the-scenes ground tour and a visit to the dressing rooms ahead of the big kick off.

Steve Alison said: "I would just like to say a huge thank you to everybody at Carlisle United for making me and my son Teddy feel so welcome when we came to the Millwall game.

"Alan Irving was superb and he made it a real day to remember for us both. I am really pleased that United got the result they needed, albeit by beating us by 2-0!"

Teddy will now receive a pre-match line-up photograph, taken moments before kick off, as a further reminder of his big day out in Carlisle.
