VERBAL AGREEMENT IN PLACE
Manager Greg Abbott today confirmed that a verbal agreement is in place with 21-year-old former Blackburn defender Tony Kane that should see him agree to the two-year contract offer that was made at the end of last season.
Kane joined the Cumbrians on-loan from Rovers at the beginning of February and made nine appearances in total as he provided much-needed cover in the right back position.
Greg Abbott said: "We had talks with Tony and there is a verbal agreement in place that he will sign his contract.
"We expect him to do that once he is back from his holiday and we think that he is a good young player who has already shown us that he is prepared to work hard and learn.
"As with the other offers that were made, the player has time now to enjoy his break before he comes back to us with his decision."
