Experienced striker Gareth Taylor will find out tomorrow whether his loan period with the club is to be extended.
Taylor, 36, came in from Doncaster on an initial one-month deal and has made five appearances, scoring one goal, during his stay at the club.
Greg Abbott said: "He wasn't involved against Northampton because he has been having a problem with a back spasm.
"He wasn't 100% fit so, with the signing of Ian Harte, we thought that he had enough experience to be able to play in the centre of defence, and that proved to be the case.
"We'll have a chat with Gareth about what he has been doing with us and we'll see where that goes, but I think that we'll probably call it to an end. We have brought Ian Morris and Ian Harte in, so that changes things slightly. He did join us at a time when we needed a helping hand and he has been a terrific lad for us. He's been a pleasure to work with and a pleasure to have around the place."
Taylor's loan spell ends on Monday 30 March with manager Greg Abbott expected to announce his final decision at the morning press conference.
