MATCH PROGRAMME NETS AWARD
The Carlisle United Match Programme has picked up the industry standard 'Best Read' award in the Programme Monthly annual awards allocation for the 2008/09 season.
The Programme, based around a standard design 76-page format, is packed with news and views from in and around the club and has been hailed as 'consistently excellent' by the judging panel.
A dedicated and diverse team of contributors provide a wealth of readable and interesting content, and the opinions expressed have often been the catalyst for wider debate.
A review of the Programme said: "It stands amongst a group that could easily punch above their weight and would not look out of place either at Championship or Premiership level.
"The content, along with other excellent League One Programmes, stands comparison with the best and is worthy of the highest praise."
Media Officer Andy Hall said: "It is superb to pick up an award from Programme Monthly, because they effectively set the standard across the industry.
"It's a huge pat on the back for the hard work that goes in to each publication from what is a dedicated group of contributors. We've been really pleased with the standard that we have set with the Programme for a number of seasons now, but it is very nice to get confirmation that the work that is being done is appreciated in this way.
"I suppose the challenge now is for us to build on the awards that have been won over the last 18-months and make sure that we continue to provide a product that is not just collectable, but also a vital part of the matchday experience."
