Defender Tony Kane spoke to us about his move to Brunton Park shortly after he signed his contract.
He said: "I'm very pleased with this move, to be honest.
"I just want to get out there and try and get some games under my belt. Hopefully I will do well for Carlisle while I am here .. that's certainly my intention anyway."
"I found out about the move towards the end of last week," he told us. "The phone call came through and I was happy to say yes almost right away. It always takes a bit of time after that to actually get up here, but I'm here now and I'm looking forward to getting on with it."
"I've already been able to train with the lads," he said, "and that was enjoyable. I had no hesitation in dropping down to League One, because I was with Stockport on loan and that was pretty much the same. The main thing is the chance to play a bit of first team football and, like I say, hopefully that's what I'll get here.
"One of my best friends is Joe Garner, so he was able to tell me how good it is here. I've also been up to watch him a few times when he was playing, so I knew a little bit about the place. I also know Eric Kinder very well, because he took me in the U16 side at Blackburn, and it's good to see him again.
"I've played in Belgium for a year," he added, "and I have had the spells with Stockport, so I don't mind moving away from Blackburn at all. The important thing is playing football. That's all I want to be doing, and I have been in amongst the squad already, and seen what they can do, and I think everyone is just raring to go after the recent postponed games. I will now work hard in the training sessions with everyone and try to force my way in to the manager's thinking ... and let's see where that leads."
