READY FOR ACTION
27-year-old left winger Lewis Neal checked in for his first day of work this morning, so we took the opportunity to talk to him before he met up with his new team mates.
He said: "I'm very happy to be here. Hopefully I'll get my chance soon because I just want to be playing in games.
"I first heard about the move towards the end of last week, and I came up here late on Friday afternoon. We were able to sort it all out fairly quickly, and that meant that I could watch the game on Saturday. I'm now just looking forward to getting on with the job."
"I had a spell with Notts County earlier in the season," he added, "and that allowed me the chance to get some football in, and hopefully that's what will happen for me here as well. Once the opportunity does come it will be a case of grabbing it with both hands and making sure that I stay in the side."
"I'm in a lucky position because I know Dennis Booth and Dave Timmins from Preston, and I also know Joe Anyinsah, so I had plenty of good information on the club," he said. "It's always easier to settle when you know people, and I'm sure that the banter from Dennis will be as bad as it has always been."
"Football wise I like to get down the wing and get some crosses in," he explained. "I like to get forward as much as possible, so I'll be working as hard as I can to help the team and to get the results that we all want. I've been training every day and I know I'm ready for action, so fitness isn't a problem for me at all. It's a case of getting my match fitness back as quickly as possible now, and then we can push on from there."
"I had no problems at all with stepping down to League One," he told us. "I've heard so many good things about the club that all I want to do now is get out there and play my football. Like I say, it's an opportunity for me and I just want to grab it with both hands."
