United Reserves suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Magpies in the Central League Cup at Brunton Park this afternoon.

Tom Aldred put the Cumbrians ahead at the break, courtesy of a diving header, but a strong second half showing from the Premier League outfit stole the tie.
