LET'S CZECH HIM OUT

Posted on: Fri 28 Nov 2008

Carlisle United will hand a trial to 25-year-old former Czech Republic U21 international Jakub Hottek when the Reserves play host to Accrington Stanley in the Totesport.com League on Monday, kick off 2pm.

Hottek, who started his career with Slavia Prague, has also played for Chmel Blasny, Viktoria Zizkov and FC Nitra, and had a spell with Irn-Bru Scottish Football League Championship side Livingston last season.

Described as an attacking midfielder, he has also played on the left flank in both of his U21 international appearances.

Managing Director John Nixon explained: "We have been speaking to the FA and the necessary authorities in a bid to get the required clearances that will allow us to play Jakub in the Reserves next week.

"He is a free agent, so that isn't an issue, and it's now just a case of making sure that we get the permissions that are required to bring him in to the club for this trial period."
