MIDFIELDER JOINS BARROW
21-year-old midfielder Luke Joyce has joined Barrow on loan until 5 January 2009 as Greg Abbott continues to reshape his Carlisle United squad.
Joyce joined the Cumbrians from Wigan in March 2006 on work experience and was signed on full contract terms after some impressive displays in the Reserves.
He made his debut against Cheltenham in the 2006/07 season and enjoyed a regular run of games as United forged their way to an eighth spot finish in League One.
Joyce has made a total of eight appearances this season, and Greg Abbott said: "We have a number of midfield players and we felt that it was important that we gave Luke the chance to get some games under his belt. He will go down there and work with them, starting with the game this Friday, and we think that will be to the benefit of everyone."
Joyce is not cup-tied and will be available to play for Barrow in their televised FA Cup second-round home game against Brentford on Friday night.
