United midfielder Luke Joyce made his first League start of the season against MK Dons last Saturday, so we caught up with him shortly after full time to get his thoughts on the game.
He said: "It's good to be back in the side. I was pleased to play on Tuesday, and I felt that I did alright in that game, then I found out that I would be starting in this one and I was chuffed about that. It's a decent stadium and it was on TV, so I think every player in the squad wanted to be on the pitch."
"Overall I think I did alright," he told us, "but it was a very frustrating result for us. It was made worse for me because their equaliser came when the ball rebounded off me and went to their player on the edge of the box. I was annoyed about that because we had started the game so well."
"We were saying in the dressing room that we haven't made them work for their goals at all," he admitted. "They were poor goals to give away from our point of view, and we're definitely not happy with how we defended those situations as a team."
"The other thing that the gaffer has just told us is that we have let ourselves be beaten by a team who aren't better than us," he said. "It's a game that we could and should have won, and we should at least have come away with a point. My goal is a mistake and the penalty at the end is probably a mistake, so we're looking at 1-1 if we don't let that kind of thing happen. We've taken the lead early on in the last two games and we haven't been able to see it out, and that's frustrating."
Elaborating further on their goals, he added: "Mistakes have cost us again, and even though we had a couple of chances where we could have scored ourselves, we have to stop putting ourselves in this position. We can come up with excuses, but the fact is that we haven't come away with what we wanted or what we deserved. I keep saying it but it's very disappointing."
"All of the lads are gutted in the dressing room," he said. "We've played quite well but we have suffered another defeat, and that isn't nice. The effort is there and the desire is there, but it's going against us at the moment. Sometimes you get away with the mistakes that have cost us over the last few weeks, but we are being punished, and that's why we have to get back to playing the game our way. It can start to feel as if everything is against you, but it's up to us to change that by getting some results."
"I have enjoyed playing in the last two games, despite the results that we have had," he concluded. "I think I've done alright again today, even though I would have liked to have played better, and hopefully I'll stay in the team for Saturday and help to get the win that we want. We all know that we're good footballers, and the belief is still there throughout the squad, so we'll be working hard to get ourselves back on track."
