We have to admit, we were extremely impressed a month ago when Matthew Routledge sent us a photo, from Ibiza, of him wearing his brand new away shirt on the beach ... complete with snazzy sun glasses!

So what, you may well ask.

Well, the thing that we really liked about the whole story was the fact that he'd forced his dad to pull in to Brunton Park and buy the shirt - on the first day of sales, by the way - even though the family had just a few hours to go before they were supposed to be checking in for their flight over at Newcastle airport.

As a reward for the devotion shown by Matthew, we invited him along to the ground, to the meet the players, shortly before the Yeovil game last weekend.

He was accompanied by his dad and his sister, and the trio were welcomed in to the dressing room for photographs and autographs all round.

Then it was down the tunnel and out on to the pitch ... along the very route that the first team would be taking just one hour later, as they went on to record a superb 4-1 victory.

Media Officer Andy Hall said: "The photographs that Matthew sent in were the first to show the new black away strip on tour. That was excellent, but to then find out that he'd come to the ground especially to get it, on his way to the airport, made it just that little bit more special. I felt it was the least we could do to get him down here and meet his heroes, and the lads were fantastic with him when we took him behind the scenes to see what they were up to."
