Defender Peter Murphy spoke to us about the game against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

He said: "When they started the game, it didn't look as though they were that interested. That was probably because they were in pre-season mode, but that soon changed in to a real-match situation. It was good for us to play against players like that, because you're learning all the time, and we put on what we felt was a decent little show. It was a good learning curve for us, and it tested our fitness because of the way they keep the ball, so it was a good all-round exercise."

"Premier League sides definitely give you more space at the back," he explained. "The likes of me get a little bit more time on the ball, but once you get in to midfield, or towards the forward players, then they are much quicker to close you down. In the lower leagues it's more hustle and bustle and tackles flying in. Teams like Boro are a bit more clever, because they have that quality on the ball all over the pitch. They are happy to let you have it in your half because they know that once they get it back they can hurt you with a couple of quick passes."

On coming off at half time, he told us: "I got a little knock about ten minutes before the break, so I think the manager decided that was enough. It's just a little knock, nothing to worry about, but with the League programme starting in a couple of weeks time it's better to take precautionary measures. I played 90 minutes on Saturday, which I felt very happy with, and 45 minuts tonight, so I'm looking forward to the games ahead. Everyone else came out of it unscathed, so we are all alright and ready to go on Saturday against Morecambe."
