Trial players Lewis Smith and Gavin Rothery will be under discussion later this week as the United management team sit down to begin the process of looking ahead to next season.

John Ward explained: "The management staff are going to sit and have a meeting this week where we will disucss what we are going to do about new players, amongst other things, and they will be talked about during the course of those discussions. At the moment I have decided not to tie myself to a definite decision on those two, but they have given us something to think about. It's been good to see them over the course of the last two Reserve games but, like I say, there is no decision from us just yet." 

Boro defender Smith, and Leeds midfielder Rothery, both played their part in the 1-1 draw with Burnley and the 3-0 victory over Bury over the course of the last 6 days.
