Trial players Lewis Smith and Gavin Rothery will both be invited back to play in the home Reserve game against Bury on Monday afternoon.

Boro defender Smith, and Leeds midfielder Rothery, featured in the 1-1 draw with Burnley last night, and have done enough to earn a recall from manager John Ward.

He told us this morning: "They are both young lads, with Smith being 18 and Rothery 19, but we're happy to take another look at them. They played well yesterday, so we'll see how they go in the Bury game on Monday afternoon."
