The Reserve team notched up another good win this afternoon, beating Preston North End 5-1.

Dennis Booth took charge of the lads for this game and we got his reaction after the match:

"We had a strong side out today and the attitude of the players was really good. It was a very difficult pitch. The Bamber Bridge first team had played last night and they've had a lot of rain so it was a bit of a mud bath, but the attitude of the players, all of them, was absolutely first class.

Danny Carlton scored 3 goals and you could say he was unlucky really, not to have scored 5. He got into some good areas and had some great strikes. He worked for it and deserved the hat-trick. The third goal was a marvellous finish.

We started well. Gary Madine scored after about 2 minutes with a header, but unfortunately he went off after about 20 minutes after he took a bang on his ankle. We don't think it's too serious, but it was a shame as he was doing very well, and having a good game.

Danny Carlton had his hat trick by half time and Jeff Smith scored our final goal in the second half.

Paul Thirlwell got through 90 minutes without any problems, other than he's tired from the heavy pitch. It was a good sight to see him back again, he played very well and it's like having a new player now that he's over his injury.

Grant Smith came off with two or three minutes to go with a blister. He's limping a bit, but I'm amazed that he managed to carry on as long as he did when I saw how nasty it was.

Overall I'm very pleased with every one of them. It was a good game, I enjoyed it and I think it would have been good for the fans watching. It wasn't just the goals, it was the manner in which they played their football on a very difficult surface."
