IT'S SEMI-FINAL TIME

Posted on: Tue 26 Jun 2007

United face Wetheriggs United in the semi-final of the Cumberland Cup here at Brunton Park on Tuesday night, with a 7-15pm kick off.

Wetheriggs started their campaign with an impressive 3-1 away win at Longtown, before seeing off Silloth by the same scoreline, this time at home, in Round 2.

Windscale provided a stiffer test in the following round, and it needed extra time to seperate the sides, resulting in a 4-3 goal fest.

Two goals in normal time were enough to get them to this game against Carlisle, as Salterbeck were sent packing in a tight quarter final.

The winners of the tie will face Workington Reds (date tbc), after a Darren Edmondson header was enough to take them past Gilford Park, so there's plenty to play for in this popular local competition.

Entry is £2 for adults, £1 for concessions, and Season Ticket holders are reminded that there is no free entry for Cumberland Cup games.
