United manager Greg Abbott stuck with the same starting line up that beat Gillingham last weekend with just one change to the bench as Marc Bridge-Wilkinson returned from a toe injury.

Richard Offiong didn't travel as a proposed one-month loan move to Rotherham hit a last minute technical hitch ahead of the Friday deadline.

A great crossfield pass from Ian Harte put United on the front foot on 2 minutes and Hurst's cross from the right was curling towards Robson until Keates intervened. Two corners followed but the Chairboys defended well and Heaton eventually gathered the ball.

McLeod had a long range shot that was always going wide on 6 minutes and the same player pounced to gain possession in the next attack when Livesey miscontrolled on the edge of his own area. Kevan Hurst recovered to make the tackle and send the ball back towards Collin.

Wycombe had a good moment on 13 minutes when McLeod strode through the midfield area. He fed it outside to Pittman and he tried to find the far post with his shot. Harte blocked it, but it spun away awkwardly and Collin had to concentrate as he stretched to gather.

Ian Harte was a whisker away from opening the scoring on 32 minutes when he dipped a well struck free kick over the wall. Heaton was beaten but the ball flew past the upright as the visitors prepared to celebrate.

Adam Collin produced a wonder save on 40 minutes shortly after he had punched a teasing Phillips free kick away for a corner. Hinshelwood and Pittman attacked it and a deflection appeared to be taking it into the back of the net. The big keeper dived to his right and somehow clawed the ball off the line. McLeod followed up but it was right at the keeper and he was able to pull it into his chest.

Half Time: Wycombe 0 - 0 United

Tom Taiwo's involvement in the game was ended on 49 minutes when Mousinho caught him with a flailing elbow that, yet again, went unpunished by the officials and Paul Thirlwell came onto the pitch as his ready made replacement.

A break involving Marshall and Dobie almost brought an opening on 53 minutes but it was eventually cleared as Marshall's cross went behind his strike partner.

A 66th minute Harte free kick pinged around inside the box and Richard Keogh knew very little about it as it was crashed into his midriff and ricocheted off over the bar.

Persistence from Marshall earned United a corner on 77 minutes but it came to nothing as the game struggled to get going.

Marshall sent one right at the keeper from just outside the area as clear cut chances remained few and far between, and a weak left foot Keates effort at the other end was all that the home side had to offer.

Kelly sent one wide in a lack-lustre ending to the game, and it was all-square as United made their way back up north with another point to add to their tally.
