We caught up with goal scoring defender Peter Murphy to talk about the latest home victory, and his latest goal, as United continue to prepare for the visit of Swansea City on Tuesday.
He said: "We wanted to get back to winning ways after losing against Forest on Tuesday, and to come from a goal behind against Yeovil showed great character in the squad. You'd say that they came here to stop us playing and catch us on the counter-attack, and that's what they did. Port Vale did it earlier on in the season, and we came back from behind then, and it just shows how much the team want to win."
"We had plenty of chances in the first half," he explained, "so we weren't too frustrated at half time. Simon Hackney had a great volley, Bridgey had a shot, Danny Livesey had an attempt at a volley - mind, that didn't go very well. We were creating some openings, and we knew that we just needed to take them. During the break we spoke about being more ruthless, because we couldn't do anything about their goal. The one thing you would have said about Marcus Stewart is that he's a very good player. He's been around, and it was a case of making sure that we didn't allow him to get on to his left foot. Unfortunately he managed to do that, and we all saw what happened. Danny Livesey tried to get his head on it, and it was deflected in to the goal, but there was nothing he could do about that. These things happen, but we showed great character to come back and get the result."
"The one I scored took a bit of a deflection," he admitted, "but you take them when they come. I've got myself on to a little run recently, and long may it continue. I hope to pop up with a few more. Danny Livesey has been doing very well, and the set pieces are working for us as well. Hopefully players other than the strikers will keep helping out, and getting the goals, and we'll see where it takes us."
"There is a lot of expectation on us at home," he told us, "but we've brought that expectation upon ourselves. After losing on Tuesday we wanted to bounce back. I thought we went much more direct in the second half, but it was effective. I thought young Gary Madine was excellent for the goal. The strength he showed was superb. He was in the 6 yard box, and he could have tried to head it on, or try something himself, but he had the presence of mind to chest it down for Dobes. It was a great strike by Dobes, but Gary Madine was absolutely excellent for that."
"I was very pleased for Dobes as well," he said. "He's had injury and illness, and to come back after he had to sit it out on Tuesday, which was very frustrating for him, shows the kind of player he is. He's come back and got the winner, and it gives everyone a lift. Hopefully the fans will come out in their droves on Tuesday, and maybe we can do it all again."
"It's up to us to stay in this position now," he concluded. "I think everybody would love a trip to Wembley but, to be where we are now, it would be fantastic if we finished in one of the top two positions. That's what we are all going for anyway."
