United striker Danny Graham brought an end to his goal drought on Saturday, so we spoke to him about it afterwards.
"It's a great feeling," he said. "It's been a long time coming, and there's been a lot of banter flying around the dressing room because I haven't scored, so I'm absolutely delighted. What makes it even better is that it meant that we won the game and got the three points, and that's the really important thing in all this."
"I suppose I was fortunate that it was me who got that little bit of luck today," he claimed. "In the end the ball has slipped under the keeper and in to the net, but it had got to the stage where I was beginning to think - 'One's just going to hit me on the backside and go in eventually.' I got a good head on the ball and whether it's hit a divot or whatever, I don't know, but it's squirmed under the keeper and it's a massive relief. I'm sky high now that the team has got the points and, hopefully, with another good weeks training perhaps I can be back in the gaffer's thoughts for selection next Saturday."
"What has been nice is that I felt that everyone was behind me," he admitted. "At the end there the fans gave me a terrific ovation off the pitch, and they have been very patient with both myself and the team. Some of our performances haven't been the best over the last couple of months, and I know that it's been the same for myself. Whether it was a confidence thing, I don't know, but it was such a big boost to have them and the lads and the staff behind me. When I scored I ran to the dugout, and all the lads and the staff were there celebrating with me, and that gave me a massive lift - I've come off feeling like I'm walking on water to be honest."
"I can't stress what an important result it was for us as well," he concluded. "We went 1-0 down again, but we've shown the spirit and we've come back and won the game. There's a real determination that we're going to do something this season, and it's results like this that will help us towards that."
