The latest news from our treatment table:
Craig Curran joined back in training but felt a bit of residual pain in his knee. We had that scanned again and he will have an injection to the side of knee, under ultrasound, on Thursday night. He should be back in full training next week.
Paul Thirlwell came off the pitch last Saturday with a bit of a tight calf but he is pain free when walking now. He should be fit and available for selection at the weekend.
Rory Loy is still on his crutches and he is booked in to get two of his pins removed from his leg on 22 February. He's doing a range of light exercises on his leg at the moment but is concentrating mostly on core strength and the rest of his body. Once the pins are out we will increase his leg to full weight bearing and we will get him off the crutches, and we can take it from there. Everything is healing well at the moment, but it's just really boring for him until we can increase the work load.
Matt Robson had a scan on his back and has been to see our consultant, and he should return to training about a week to ten days from now. We have a programme for him to work on to help to resolve the issues that he has, and we think he should be fine after that. He had a minor disc bulge, but that wasn't impinging on anything so it wasn't causing any secondary problems, and he also had quite a large lateral shift due to the spasm that he went through. We're working on taking that lateral shift out, which is going well and, like we say, he should be back in approximately a week to ten days time.
Jordan Parker is feeling a little bit of pain in his back, but the first batch of x-rays have been encouraging. They haven't shown any obvious problems and we're hoping that he is just going through one of the growth spurts which lads of his age have to enjoy. He has some other tests to do, but we'll wait for the results of those, see our consultant, and take it from there.
