The latest injury news is as follows:
David Raven is going well with his rehabilitation and running work, and we will be stepping that up again next week. All being well he is approximately a month away from a return to training with the lads.
Andy Cook is building up his running and rehabilitation programme and will be going for a spell at Lilleshall at some point in the next few weeks.
Marc Bridge-Wilkinson has recovered from the bruised toe that he picked up during training and he played in the behind closed doors friendly that was held at Sunderland's training facility on Thursday afternoon. Hopefully there will be no reaction to that today and he will be available for the weekend.
Gary Madine has returned to Chesterfield following some treatment on an ankle injury that he picked up during his spell with them.
Matt Robson has had a second injection in his right heel (last Monday evening) following the first one that he had in late October for his Plantar Fasciitis problem. We don't foresee any more problems with that and he should remain available for selection.
Joe Anyinsah had bi-lateral hernia surgery in Manchester on Tuesday afternoon and he will now have a period of recuperation until Tuesday. We will remove his clips on Tuesday evening and he will begin his rehabilitation programme next Wednesday morning. We should have more of an idea on time scales once we start to do some work with him, but we still anticipate that he will be out for anything between three and six weeks.
Note - United won the practice match 1-0 against Sunderland thanks to a goal from Conor Tinnion.
