MONDAY INJURY UPDATE

Posted on: Mon 10 Aug 2009

The latest bulletin from the injury room:

Simon Lakeland was seen by a surgeon last week after falling awkwardly in training on Tuesday. He has been diagnosed with a partial tear to his medial ligament and he has been placed in a hinged brace. He will wear that for a six-week period, and that will be followed by a further six-week rehabilitation spell. We expect him to be out for approximately three months.

Paul Thirlwell took a knee to his calf on Saturday and is suffering from a dead leg. There has been a lot of swelling and bruising over the weekend and it has been uncomfortable for him. He will definitely miss out on the Oldham Carling Cup game on Tuesday and he is 50/50, at this moment in time, for the Millwall game on Saturday.

Jamie Cleary is now back from his week of rest and recuperation and he will begin the rehab process on his medial ligament strain in earnest this week.
