Dolly gives us all the latest news from the treatment room:

Joe Garner is gradually working on decreasing the swelling in and around his knee, and we'll see him again this week. I know his flexion is around 99 to 100 degrees, which is excellent at this stage, and particularly following the type of surgery that he has had. That means that he is maintaining the full extension of the knee. It's just a case of keeping that going for the next week or two. Things are pretty slow for the first few weeks of rehab, as we keep the main muscle groups moving slowly as we try to get the swelling down.

Paul Thirlwell has had the weekend off. It's been a nightmare season for him, and he seems to have been forever in my room or in the gym, so I thought it would be nice if he got the weekend away. Once he gets back with me tomorrow we will be increasing his rehab and getting round to doing some strengthening work with the muscles around the ankle. He's still a good three weeks away, if not more, from getting back to doing anything functional. We'll keep working with him and we'll see if we can get him back before the end of the season.

Jeff Smith still has a badly swollen ankle at the moment. The bruising is coming out, and he's black and blue from his toe area to half way up his shin. Once we get rid of the swelling we can start to increase the workload, and I expect that to take a week or so. We haven't scanned it, but he was on crutches for three days, and we have him to about 95% weight bearing. We'll assess things as it goes along, but the way it's going at the moment I'm quite happy with the diagnosis. If it doesn't settle as quickly as I would like, over the next week, then we might get a scan just to make sure that we are heading in the right direction. However, I'm 100% sure we are.

Shaun Vipond hurt his knee on Monday, during training. He's sprained the medial ligament on the inside of his knee. His studs got stuck in the ground and he had a slight twist, and that's down to the St Aidans pitches being like a glue pot at the moment. It doesn't look too serious, so we'll watch it closely for the next week or so.

Scott Dobie is getting stronger every day, so it's now over to the gaffer and when he wants to use him.

Simon Lakeland is our only other worry. He has chicken pox, so he'll be away for 7-10 days.

That's all for now,

Keep well,

Dolly
