RACIAL EQUALITY AT CUFC

Posted on: Mon 21 Jun 2010

As part of our commitment to fighting racism at all levels, the club is currently working towards the preliminary level of the Racial Equality Standard for professional football clubs, an award granted in conjunction with the Kick It Out campaign and all of the major football authorities including The FA, Premier League and The Football League.

The Racial Equality Standard is an important step in the development of our work against racism here at Brunton Park as it sets out a series of measures to encourage and support the development of race equality practice.

It provides us with the definitive framework for the work we do in this area and is just the beginning of formalising what is an ongoing commitment through our Football in the Community project who continually work to promote social inclusion and encourage tolerance and understanding in all sections of the community.

Part of our work includes the development of a detailed Racial Equality Action Plan to help us to ensure that spectators, players, managers and administrative staff can work within an environment free from discrimination.

We remain committed to providing everyone connected to Carlisle United Football Club equal opportunity in everything that they do.
